A recent change in the PayPal notification messages can cause Outlook to hang for a couple of minutes. The issue is caused by an invalid picture reference in the message and the way Outlook deals with time-outs.

Background information
At the bottom of the message, there is a hidden tracking image. Instead of this image pointing to a web server, it is pointing to a non-existing network share. As it is pointing to a network share and not to a web server, Outlook’s “Internet picture blocking” functionality doesn’t kick in and tries to retrieve the content.
Obviously this fails, but Outlook is quite persistent in still trying to reach this network share and it takes up to a minute for it to time-out and stop trying. As this is being done in a foreground thread, it means you cannot use Outlook during this time and will display a “Not Responding” message in the title bar when you try it anyway.
Fixing the broken messages
PayPal is aware of this issue and the template should be corrected soon (if it hasn’t been already). As long as it hasn’t been fixed, you can disable the Reading Pane to prevent accidental selection of the message and cause another time-out of a minute.
As the issue is within the message itself, the issue won’t go away for PayPal messages which you have already received. Throwing away the broken messages would be one solution but if you need to keep the message, you can do the following;
- Disconnect yourself from the network by either unplugging your network cable, disconnecting yourself from the wireless network or by disabling your network adapter.
- Open the message in its own window via a double click; this should go quickly now.
- Place the message in Edit Mode;
- Outlook 2003
Edit-> Edit Message
- Outlook 2007
tab Message-> group Action-> Other Actions-> Edit message
- Outlook 2010
tab Message-> group Move-> Actions-> Edit Message
- If you get a prompt that Outlook will need to download external content, accept it. As you are disconnected, it won’t actually attempt to download anything.
- At the bottom of the message, you’ll see an e-mail reference number from PayPal. Note the space behind the last number.
Place your cursor after this space and press Backspace twice.
Or place your cursor directly after the last number of the reference number and press Delete twice.
- The first time you press it, you’ll select the image which will show as a dot (see screenshot below).
- The second time you press it will actually remove the image.
- Save and close the image.
- Reconnect to the network.

Remove the space behind the reference number to select the image, which
will show as a dot. Pressing Backspace again will remove the broken image.
Fixing a lot of broken messages at once
If you have a lot of broken PayPal message which you all need to keep, then you can also modify your HOSTS file to fix the issue.
- Start Notepad as an administrator.
You can do this by right clicking on the Notepad shortcut in the Start Menu and choosing “Run as administrator”. If you don’t see this option, hold SHIFT while right clicking on it.
- Choose File-> Open… and open the following file;
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
- Add the following line at the bottom.
127.0.0.1 102.112.2o7.net
- Save the file and close Notepad.
Now all the bad requests for the tracking image will be directly rerouted back to your computer which rejects it and causing a time-out which is hardly noticeable.

Edited HOSTS file to redirect the broken PayPal image.

Just imagine.. You have a wordpress blog, and for some reason, you cannot login as admin user to your wordpress blog?
You tried the forget password utility, but dont get through the password reset feature and now clueless..
Then it might be time to change that information using WordPress’ database.
Even if you don’t have CPanel, you should have access to phpMyAdmin. It is a simple, but powerful, application that allows you control over your databases, and can be easily used to change all kinds of information stored in the MySQL databases it manages.
1) Login to your phpmyadmin and search for the database that holds your wordpress data. You can login to phpmyadmin as root user, or with the mysql user that has access to your databases.
2) A new window will most likely have opened. It will have two panes. On the left hand side you will have a list of databases. Click on the one related to the WordPress installation we are going to work with.
Look for a table called wp_users in the left hand pane. It is usually the last item in the list.
*Note: If your WordPress table prefix is not wp_ then you will be of course looking for your custom prefix user table. You can find your prefix in the wp-config.php file.
Click on the user table link, and in the right hand pane, the information will change. At the top there should be a few links. Click Browse.
It should then look something like the following image.

3) Now is the time to reset your password. Please remember, WordPress stores the passwords as MD5 hash. You will notice there is a field called user_pass. This is where the password is stored in WordPress. Find the user you want to edit, and click the pencil image next to the red X. This will allow us to edit the entry.

You will notice the password is strange, and not plain text. This is because for security reasons, as passwords are in MD5 has format.
We can’t just enter a normal text password, and should replace the MD5 hash of the password we don’t know with the MD5 hash of a password we do know.
To create an MD5 hash, I usually just search for “online MD5 hash” on Google, and come up with some great online tools for creating the result I need.
In such tools, I enter what I want the password to be, click a button to process it, and it spits out the MD5 hash that I want to enter in the user_pass field.
Click Go to save the change, and then log in to WordPress using your new password.

I generally try to write blog posts by picking a particular topic from several discussion forums.. Today saw a thread where someone said, he was not aware about any web hosting knowledge and wanted to start his own web hosting business…
Well.. for people who know about web hosting, for them this is not a big deal.. But if you try thinking about those who are not aware about web hosting industry, I believe the following article will help them to get an idea about this industry and about starting their own web hosting if they wish to..
Few questions that a new person may have in mind are, how to go about or how to start a web hosting business?
The answer is quite simple, affordable and possible for almost everyone.. To start a web hosting business, you need not invest heavily from the very first day.. You do not have any client, you have less knowledge about this industry and limited technical knowledge about hosting aspects.. then why invest in bulk and repent later..
Better, start with reseller web hosting and gradually expand your business to your own web hosting business..
Benefits of starting as a reseller webhost:
1) Do you have enough capital to invest to purchase your own servers? 2) Do you have enough knowledge or staff to take care of those servers? 3) Do you have ample of time to take care of 24/7 support? 4) Do you have the capability to invest further to offer additional attractive features along with normal web hosting to your clients? 5) Do you have enough experience of dealing with web hosting in past?
If no, then why take the risk and make your life more complex..
Simply go for a reseller web hosting solution.. Be wise and choose a turn-key reseller web hosting plan from a company offering one.! Now the question is, what is turn-key reseller hosting?
The reseller web hosting that can be started in just a few minutes, right from the purchase of domain name to integrating it with a billing system and server and with a decent web design, and that too in just a few minutes, is turn-key reseller hosting.
So while choosing your reseller host, you may need to think about few factors that will be affecting your reseller hosting business..
1) Is the chosen reseller web host is a reliable and reputed provider? If so, how long has he been in business? Is it a debt free company?
2) Do they offer private nameservers? (Private nameservers will hide your reseller host identity and project you as the real host before your clients).
3) If they offer private nameservers, is it a free or a paid feature?
4) What kind of control panel do they offer?
5) Do they offer overselling? (I would personally say, stay away from overselling. No unlimited thing exists in this world and overselled servers are over-stuffed servers having high server loads and poor performance).
6) Do they offer any kind of billing application for their reseller clients? (most companies offer them free of cost, allowing their resellers to build their reseller business in a day).
7) Do they offer SSL certificates? (if you have a billing system and cart, SSL will be needed to gain your clients confidence).
Do they offer end user support? (Since you have limited technical knowledge, cant afford to hire external support or if you do not have time to support your clients, why not choose a host that offers free end user support! That way they will take care of your clients on your behalf.)
9) Is the end user support completely white labelled? (Make sure your host has white labelled end user support. What if your client comes to know you are a reseller and your parent host is someone else! So make sure you choose a host with white labelled end user support and 100% private namesever offering host).
Well.. RSHosting has been offering reseller web hosting since years now and has gained as a reputation of reliable reseller web hosting provider across the globe. With the choice of US and UK servers, our clients can take the advantage of representing themselves as a host offering hosting on US and UK networks.
Further, all our reseller web hosting plans are 100% white labelled solutions including 100% private nameservers and 100% white labelled end user support.
We also offer free WHMCS billing system (the most popular and widely used billing system that allows you to accept your clients orders and setup them on your servers… completely automated!), free SSL ceritificates, free Rvsitebuilder, free Rvskin, free Vision Helpdesk, Free Private nameservers, Free ENOM reseller account, and many such features..
To summarize in a nutshell, RSHosting offers 100% turn-key reseller web hosting solutions to suit all your requirements to start your web hosting business.
Probably that was not enough, RSHosting is offering a HUGE 25% recurring discount with all our US and UK reseller web hosting plans for a limited time.. So if you are one of those who wish to start your reseller web hosting, or one of those who wish to migrate to a reliable and secure reseller web host, you have your answer right in front of you which is RSHosting!… Take the advantage of this offer, and gain your peace of mind for your life time..!

Thats a question that everyone must have thought of atleast once… Atleast the people who are in web hosting industry, will try to find if the web hosting review websites that exist, are fake websites?
Do they really publish honest reviews? Or why are there same companies listed on such websites.. The only thing is their sequence of listing will change, however the normal top companies will stay everywhere on top — no matter how bad customer support they have offered to their customers…
There are a few things that you will notice the same companies on top listing on such hosting review websites…
1) They earn by affiliate system and place the companies in top 10, who pay them the most of affiliate commission.
2) They avoid publishing bad reviews for such companies.. Infact, you will rarely find a place to submit a review on such websites.
3) Their displayed reviews are doubtful to authenticate.. So there is no guarantee if the review was submitted by an honest reviewer or client.
4) Such companies inspite of having top rankings on review websites, will always have a poor reputation on public forums, where people actually discuss their experience in public…
So I would recommend is, avoid such review websites, and try searching for honest reviews on public forums…
There are few websites that publish honest reviews, and one of them is http://freeindex.co.uk
So you can always trust the honesty of freeindex or other web hosting public forums, where people discuss their web hosting experience with several hosting companies publicly..
Hopefully this article helps you next time to make your right decision of choosing an honest host…

Help needed choosing a web hosting for your website? Not sure what you should go for?
The below article will help you understand, what exactly you would require or suit your requirements in terms of web hosting for your website.
The web hosting industry has evolved a wide range of niche markets over the years. Starting from cheap shared web hosting to your own dedicated server, as well as all the hybrids in between, each type of web hosting presents its own set of advantages and disadvantages, both in terms of pricing and quality.
Shared Hosting – Cost Effective and Cheap, User friendly and Feature Rich
Whether you call it conventional, regular or normal hosting, shared hosting is the most common web hosting service on the market. In fact, a large majority of the websites you encounter online are running on this type of platform.
As the name implies, shared hosting is a service arrangement where you share bandwidth, disk space capacity and various network resources with other paying customers. The structure of this model equates into a low-cost solution that is typically easy to maintain for even the most inexperienced of users. Although the price is usually reasonable, these packages do not slack on power, as they come loaded with an arsenal of useful features. The economic value, simplicity and hassle-free aspect makes shared hosting a viable option for most individuals and small companies. People looking for their hobby websites, personal websites, or for their small business website, shared hosting is ideal solution for them to manage their website and their own company branded email accounts.
Reseller Hosting – Starting your own Web Hosting without actually investing into server and network hardware.
Our reseller hosting has emerged in recent times, providing entrepreneurs and small businesses with an opportunity to profit from the flourishing web hosting industry. As a reseller, you purchase a service plan from us equipped with a certain amount of disk storage, bandwidth and features. This gives you the ammunition you need to sell web hosting plans to customers looking to build their presence online. With the choice of our US and UK datacenters, you can offer US reseller hosting or UK reseller hosting, thus targetting the clients in repsective geographical areas.
What makes this type of arrangement so attractive is that you pay a flat fee and have the potential generate substantial income from your investment. By choosing RShosting as your reseller partner, a reseller account can run seamlessly and transparently enough to give you the presence of a large, established company. You also get free addons such as free Enom reseller account (where you can register and manage your own domains), free WHMCS billing system (industry leading billing system to manage your clients accounts), free RvSitebuilder (a sitebuilder tool to get your website ready in minutes), free private nameservers (your domain name servers so that your clients do not know, we are your parent host and you are our reseller), free End User support (while we managing your technical support and supporting your clients under YOUR company name, you can concentrate on sales)
VPS Hosting – Intermediate solution between shared hosting and dedicated hosting with Immense Power and Great Performance
A virtual private server, or VPS, represents a technology that is rapidly emerging in the web hosting industry. A VPS is created by software that partitions a single physical server to establish multiple virtual servers within it. Known as virtualization, this process results in a number of isolated environments with the ability to perform many of the same functions as an individual machine.
A virtual private server tends to provide more guaranteed resources, better performance and security than your typical shared platform at a price that is notably less expensive than a dedicated server. With these factors in mind, many view a VPS as the perfect compromise between shared and dedicated web hosting. RShosting has been offering such secure and reliable – managed VPS web hosting plans on our most powerful servers thus giving you the complete peace of mind for your VPS. All VPS come with free WHM/Cpanel control panels and free managed services.
Managed Dedicated Hosting – The Utmost in Control, Flexibility, and Responsibility
RSHosting managed dedicated web hosting is the exact opposite of the shared variety. Instead of sharing the server with other customers, the hardware is dedicated exclusively to your website needs. Since you are not forced to share resources, dedicated hosting can provide you with a superior level of control, flexibility and performance. This is an arrangement wherein you can choose your own operating system, install your own software applications, and incorporate the security mechanisms you feel will provide the server with the best protection. If you do not have administrative skills to manage your server, its not a problem, since we have been offering fully managed dedicated servers that come with proactive updates and montoring. Our fully managed services aim to alleviate the complexities and technical challenges of managing a web server. Though server management is the main feature, other options range from web application and database administration to monitoring and extensive support. So even if you lack the technical abilities needed to handle a dedicated server, or do not have the time to fully immerse yourselves in all the management aspects, its we who take complete care of your servers and their security updates and monitoring.

What is a webhosting directory? It is a similar directory just like your normal telephone directory with Yellow Pages. Many beginners and newbies who are in search of a reliable web host come across web hosting directories while searching for webhosts on search engines like Google.
But a question that can be of concern is: Are these web hosting directories really trustworthy sources for novices and newbies?
To find an answer it’s very important to understand the working of webhost directories (WHDs).
Web-hosting directories are of two types: paid WHDs and free WHDs. For paid directories, either web hosts pay a set amount for placing their banners on the site, or they pay commission if they get customers via that medium. An example of such type of directory is www.thewhir.com
On the other hand, free WHDs like www.thehostdir.com and www.hostbyte.com etc. web hosts list their services without paying any fees.
Some people believe that paid WHDs are very easy to manipulate as the ranking of web hosts can be changed in unfair ways. Others have the view that WHDs that are actually free reflect the true ranking of web hosts companies. Whatever the case may be, paid or free, people should believe the web hosts rankings only if they are based completely on votes of customers who have actually given their remarks and have left their website address as well.
It is not possible for any web hosting company to have 100% positive reviews. It is also observed that at times customers who are satisfied with their web host forget to express their opinion about that host. However, a biased customer who is not satisfied with their web host does not forget to mention their opinion of that web host. This implies that a negative review doesn’t always reflect the true picture of a web host company.
No doubt web hosting directories are very useful if the newbies wish to compare prices and features of different companies. But, when it comes to choosing a web host he/she should make an intelligent choice by referring to other resource sites (forums etc.) as well.
Reviews on forums can be good tool to judge on choosing a webhost after one has shortlisted the hosting providers from web-host directories. Forums may contain good or bad reviews, but both can be helpful to find the reputation of that particular hosting company.
